Unbeaten WBA mandatory super welterweight challenger Austin Trout (21-0, 13 KOs) is in the final phase of his training in the Ruidoso Mountains at 7000 feet altitude in New Mexico for his February 5 bout in Guadalajara Mexico against current WBA interim titleholder Rigoberto “Español” Alvarez. The fight was planned to take place at the Sergio Leon Chavez Stadium in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico but has now been moved to Guadalajara.

“It’s my first big chance and I will do my best,” says Trout.

“‘Español’ is a great champion and I respect him but my goal is that WBA world title and to prove that I am a good fighter and face the best. For now this is my big test, finally going to the home of the champion after many obstacles…we have trained well and are highly focused so I’m confident in my victory.”
