Ukrainian light heavyweight Vyacheslav “Steel Power” Uzelkov (22-0, 14 KOs) retained his WBA Inter-Continental light heavyweight belt and position of mandatory challenger for WBA World light heavyweight title after he kayoed Tomas “Jumbo” Adamek (14-2-1, 6 KOs) from Czech Republic in round 5 when both headlined a huge boxing tournament which was held by K2 East Promotions, promotional company of Klitschko brothers in the capital of Ukraine on October 21st.
Uzelkov did not waste time at the end of round 1 he stunned Adamek by a huge left hook and then hailed down a storm of blows on the contender’s head. The Czech sank down to the canvas. Adamek rose to his feet and wanted to continue, the bell helped him to recover totally. In round 2 both fighters were cautious with Uzelkov being a bit more active and trying to press the opponent.
In the next stanza the champ found his rhythm and landed several good crosses. At the end of round 5 Uzelkov landed a perfect left, then left to the body followed by a huge right to the head. Adamek went to the canvas; he bravely continued, however, a few seconds later he was on the canvas again after a painful right to the body. He did not want to continue after he stood up and the referee waved the fight off.
