On Wednesday, the WBA 126 lbs Argentine Jesus Cuellar, made a public training in California, in light of his next defense against Armenian Vic Darchinyan on Saturday at the StubHub Center of Carson.
Cuellar (26-1, 20 KO) did some physical workout to show the media present, and posed for photos next to his manager Robert García.
The world champion is aware of the importance of this bout against this experienced Darchinyan (40-7, 31 KO) who is very technical and ackward, he “this is a great opportunity for my boxing future”.
He stressed that he is committed to this preparation as if it is “the most important fight of my career”, and said to the media present he hopes it will be a good fight, without ruling out the possibility to finish it before the limit.
The Argentine knows that a victory against Darchinyan means not only exprerience but professional growth. “More and better opponents and better purses will come”.
The officials appointed by the California State Athletic Commission are Tom Taylor referee, Rubén Carrion, Sergio Caíz and Max de Luca as judges.
