WBA Asia confirmed the celebration of its first regional convention, which will be held in HoChiMin City, Vietnam, on August 9-11.

The WBA Asia Convention will be held at the MerPerle Crystal Palace Hotel, HoChiMinh City. During three days of intense work, WBA Asia aims to bring together important WBA personalities, as well as leaders, boxers, referees, judges, promoters and allies of professional boxing in Asia.
This conclave is part of the World Boxing Association’s overall plan to strengthen its regional offices, a strategic objective for the organisation.
According to Wom Kim, the convention will review WBA Asia’s activities during the year. The introduction of professional boxing in Vietnam will also be discussed, as well as issues concerning the WBA Asia Tournament Plan, regional rankings, local commissions, etc. The general agenda of the event will be announced soon.
Pioneers in Asia
For the WBA and WBA Asia, this event will have a very special meaning, as it will be the first time that a professional boxing convention will be held in Vietnam.
This has been made possible thanks to the support of the Vietnam Boxing Commission, VBC, the body mandated by the Vietnamese government to regulate boxing activity.
This historic milestone makes WBA, WBA Asia and VBC the first to bring together the region’s professional boxing elite in Vietnam, living up to our motto: Always Pioneers!
Through the VBC, the various governmental bodies in Vietnam have expressed their support for the WBA Asia Convention.
It will be an extraordinary opportunity to bring together the entire boxing family of the Asian continent, a region that has seen its activity grow steadily in recent years.
The WBA is working on a coordinated plan with its regional bodies to further the development of boxing and the growth of the pioneering body around the world. The WBA Asia Convention will be a firm step in that direction.
