The WBA Academy’s seminar “How to score a round and refereeing procedure”, will take place this Saturday at 2:00 pm in Colombia and at 3:00 pm in Panama, and will have some of the best judges and referees in the world talking to the hundreds of attendees who have already reached the maximum amount of participants.
Luis Pabon (Puerto Rico), Raul Caiz Jr. (United States), Gustavo Padilla (Panama), Octavio Rodriguez (Panama) and Roberto Torres (Puerto Rico), will be in charge of the training aimed at bringing more and more people to the boxing referee world.
Pabón is the Director of the WBA International Officials Committee, has been in 180 world championship fights and is one of the most renowned references in the world. Caiz has been with the WBA since 2005, has also worked for the California Athletic Commission since 1998, and has been in 95 title fights.
Gustavo Padilla has been in 107 championship fights, has an extensive career, and has been a member of the Panama Boxing Commission since 1989. Octavio Rodriguez has been an international judge since 1977 and has been with the WBA since 1996, while he has been in major fights, including the recent one between Naoya Inoue and Nonito Donaire.
Finally, Roberto Torres has been awarded as the Judge of the Year in Puerto Rico in 1994, 2001 and 2006. He has officiated 91 world title fights out of a total of 936 fights he has worked in during his career.
These five judges and referees will give lectures in a dynamic and entertaining way to share their knowledge with the new generations and all those who have registered for this extraordinary seminar.
