The World Boxing Association (WBA) continues to expand across the world and on May 25 will arrive in Vietnam for an event that will have three Asian titles at stake.
WBA Asia will hold a tournament at the Saigon Sports Club in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring Huu Toan Le, the first Vietnamese WBA top 8 ranked fighter in history. The 30-year-old minimumweight fighter will defend his WBA Asia title against Filipino Garen Diagan in the night’s main event.
Meanwhile, Dinh Hoang Truong, WBA Asia super middleweight champion, will make the first defense of his crown against Korean Dae Hyun Baek in another big fight.
The other title that will be in dispute will be the Asian super lightweight title between Vietnamese Tamnien Ngoc Hai Nguyen and Thai Campee Phayom. Two good quality opponents who will be looking for that 140 lbs. regional crown.
WBA Asia is preparing for a great day of boxing in a growing place like Vietnam. It will be the first time this country hosts regional titles of the pioneer organization and it will be a great experience.
