Champion Brandon Figueroa will go into the ring tonight in Las Vegas to face Julio Ceja as the owner of the Super Bantamweight belt of the World Boxing Association (WBA).
During Friday’s weigh-in, the challenger Ceja was above the 122 regulatory pounds (marked 126.5) and for that reason he will not have the right to fight for the championship.
In the event of a victory by Figueroa, it will be considered a defense and he will maintain his belt. A victory by Ceja would also leave Figueroa with the belt.
The WBA adheres to its regulations in these types of cases and expects a great fight between these two men this Saturday night.
