The World Boxing Association (WBA) Championships Committee ordered the bout between middleweight champion Erislandy Lara and top challenger Michael Zerafa.
The organization sent the communication to the parties on March 13 with a 30-day negotiation period starting on March 14 and ending on April 13.
Lara became the only champion once Gennady Golovkin gave up the belt and did not make the fight that had been ordered against the Cuban. Now, after an analysis of the committee, it was determined that the Antillean must negotiate the fight against the Australian challenger.
In case they do not reach an agreement in the established time or any of the parties refuses to sign the contract, the WBA may send the bout to auction under the rules of the entity.
