The World Boxing Association (WBA) Championships Committee has called for a purse bid to grant the promotional rights for the Cruiserweight championship bout between Gilberto Ramirez and Yuniel Dorticos, scheduled to take place in Houston, Texas, on August 27th.
On Friday, both fighters’ teams were notified through official channels. The purse bid will be conducted by the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Julio Thyme, at 11:00 a.m. (local time).
The minimum bid to secure the rights to the fight is $200,000, with the purse split at 75% for the champion, Ramirez, and 25% for the challenger, Dorticos.
On the same day, the purse bid for the Bridgerweight world title fight between Muslim Gadzhimagomedov and Leon Harth will also be held.
