The Instant Replay System of the World Boxing Association (WBA IRS) will be put into operation this Friday during the world championship fight between Amanda Serrano and Danila Ramos to be held at the Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
The pioneer organization will officially put into operation for the first time this technology mechanism that seeks to solve different controversial or difficult situations to appreciate in the first instance aiming to make boxing a fairer sport.
A technical, technological and human deployment will be part of this new system, which consists of several cameras around the ring, in addition to a first-person view from the referee’s perspective. The WBA IRS will have a chief technician who will make available to the fight authorities all the necessary elements when reviewing an action and the system will provide the images that serve as support in these cases.
The WBA IRS has already been tested on several occasions together with the Florida Commission, which has been of great help throughout the testing process of this project and will now continue to work hand in hand in its official rollout.
The WBA will continue to work and train personnel in the use of this system, which promises to be a very valuable tool for boxing and sport justice.
