The ratings Committee of the World Boxing Association published today their March ratings, valid from March 15th to April 9th.
Kazakhz Gennady Golovkin won the boxer of the month after defeating the American Daniel Jacobs by UD 12 in the seventeenth successful defense of his middleweight Super championship belt, on March 18, 2017 at the Madison Square Garden, New York. The fight was closed although “Miracle Man” hit the canvas in round four, and GGG had to wait for the judges’ verdict for the first time in his career.
The Honorable Mention was given to Venezuelan Jorge Linares, in light of his recent successful WBA title defense against Anthony Crolla. This time, the “golden boy” dominated from the beginning the “million dollar” winning by unanimous decision in the rematch.
The WBA also had sanctioned the Super Middleweight Tyron Zeuge title defense against Isaac Ekpo; and the Super Bantamweight title fight where the Japanese Shun Kubo defeated Venezuelan Nehomar Cermeno by TKO 11.
