The purse bid for the cruiserweight bout between champion Beibut Shumenov and the mandatory challenger, Arsen Goulamirian, has been ordered by the World Boxing Association (WBA) Championships Committee and will take place next Monday, February 4th, at the offices of the WBA in Panama City.

Shumenov will have to make the first defense of his belt against the interim champion. The Kazakh returned to boxing after overcoming an eye injury and beat Hizni Altunkaya in nine rounds this last July. The champion will now face Goulamirian in the first defense of his crown.

For his part, the Armenian born but of French nationality Goulamirian earned the right to face Shumenov after beating Ryad Merhy in March and Mark Flanagan in October. His status as interim champion gives him the benefit of challenging the champion.

The minimum amount of the auction will be $ 200,000 and the champion Shumenov will take 55% of the purse, while Goulamirian will receive 45%. Both parties were notified by the WBA and the Panamanian Aurelio Fiengo will be in charge of directing the auction.

Lomachenko-Crolla will go to purse bid on February 4th
