The WBA has ordered a championship bout between its World and interim World minimumweight titlists Byron Rojas and Knockout CP Freshmart. Representatives of the fighters have 30 days from March 23 to agree on terms.
Twenty-five-year-old Rojas of Nicaragua is a six-year pro (17-2-3, 8 KOs, 1 NC) who stunned the boxing world this March 19 by beating Hekkie Budler via unanimous decision, thus scoring both the WBA and IBF World titles.
Also 25, Freshmart is a four-year ring vet (12-0, 6 KOs) who won the interim title in October 2014 by beating Carlos Buitrago via unanimous decision. First-ranked by the WBA, the undefeated Thai has successfully defended his title three times, most recently this February when he once again beat Buitrago by unanimous decision.
