Tre’sean Wiggins put on a solid performance on Saturday at the Packard Music Hall in Warren, Ohio, and scored a third round technical knockout over Cody Wilson to win the vacant WBA-NABA welterweight title.
The 31-year-old southpaw fighter used all his tools to end the fight early and take the WBA-NABA belt.
In the third round, Wiggins landed a counter right straight hand that put Wilson on the wrong side of the canvas and he repeated that blow to send him to the canvas for good. Although his opponent got up, as soon as the referee sent them back to fight, Wiggins went on the attack with no response from Wilson and the third man in the ring decided to stop the action.
Wiggins got a good win that helps him to keep climbing up the world boxing rankings. His record now stands at 13 wins, 5 losses, 3 draws and 7 knockouts.
