Shannon Courtenay and Jamie Mitchell have the same goal for Saturday night, to get out of the ring with the WBA bantamweight to win the belt at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
As the fight approaches, they have been carrying out different promotional activities for Matchroom Boxing and this Wednesday they were at the media day, which included interviews and public training sessions in their schedule.
Both were with their crews going through the motions and showing off some of their arsenal for the cameras, while also offering statements.
“I don’t believe Courtenay has anything special,” said challenger Mitchell. “I’m going to win this fight in devastating fashion and put that belt around my waist.”
For her part, the champion was confident that she will come out with her hand up despite the American’s words.
” Anybody can say anything before the fight. It will take her into deep waters she’s never been in before. That WBA title will not leave the UK,” the monarch stressed.
Next, they will attend the final pre-fight press conference on Thursday and on Friday they will step on the scales in the prelude to the weekend’s fight.
