Costa Rican Hanna Gabriels fulfilled her commitment to Costa Rica by beating Canadian Natasha Spence at the BN Arena in San Jose on Saturday and retaining her World Boxing Association Super Welterweight Title.
From the first round, both boxers exchanged punches in the middle of the ring. However, the best punches were connected by the Costa Rican gladiator.
This did not change in the rest of the battle, Gabriels and Spence face to face, offering a good spectacle to the public. When the Canadian decided to attack, it hurt. However, the Costa Rican responded very well and fought again at medium or long distance trying to connect the best punches.
In the end, the cards were necessary to choose the winner and the three judges gave the victory to the local 99-91 by unanimous decision.
In this way, Gabriels retained her WBA title at 154 pounds for the second time, with a record of 17 wins, one defeat, one draw and 11 KOs.
