Anabel Ortiz will make the 13th defense of her World Boxing Association (WBA) Minimumweight Championship this Saturday when she steps into the ring of the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, to face the talented Seniesa Estrada, one of the most interesting fighters in boxing today and who is determined to win the belt.
The bout will be the co-feature of the event organized by Golden Boy Promotions featuring Vergil Ortiz Jr. against Maurice Hooker.
Ortiz has been champion since 2013 and has made 12 defenses since winning the title. The Mexican is one of the greatest champions of the pioneer organization and now faces a difficult challenge in the U.S., where she will try to remain the queen at the age of 34.
For her part, Estrada is in front of the opportunity she has been looking for in recent years and now will fight for the world title in the minimumweight division. She has already been Interim Light Flyweight Champion and now she will be looking for the belt in a new category. The American of Mexican descent is 28 years old and undefeated.
On Friday, the official weigh-in will take place before the fight and on Saturday both women will step in the ring to fight for the black and gold belt. The “Avispa” comes with a record of 31 wins, 3 losses, and 4 KOs. On the other hand, the challenger “Super Bad” has 19 wins with no losses, and 8 KOs.
