World Boxing Association (WBA) World Female Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor made weight, coming at 134.6lbs. Her opponent Cindy Serrano also made weight, coming in at 132.6lbs.

Katie Taylor will be showcased once again in the United States. On this occasion the lightweight champion will go against Puerto Rican Cindy Serrano at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

The fight is promoted by Matchroom in connection with the new DAZN streaming service. Serrano has already been world champion in lower weight categories and comes from a family of boxing tradition, which is a good challenge to the European. For her part, Taylor will try to retain her crown and continue to grow in the American market.

The champion and winner of the gold medal in the Olympic Games of London in 2012 will make the fourth defense of the belt that she won last year against Argentina’s Anahi Esther Sanchez, whom she defeated on October 28th by unanimous decision. Since then, Jessica McCaskill, Victoria Noelia Bustos and Kimberly Connor have all been beaten by the champion in three successful title defenses.

Katie Taylor has a record of 10 wins, no losses and 5 knockouts while Cindy Serrano has a record of 27 wins, 5 losses, 3 draws, and 10 wins via knockout.
